The Sunshine Ride Lori was a member of Zeta Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi at Indiana University Southeast. Lori was a beautiful, active and healthy woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 1999 at the age of 30 years young. Lori underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation. After a brave fight she enjoyed being cancer free for three years. She and her husband Keith were looking forward to celebrating her 4th cancer-free anniversary when she experienced a reoccurrence of her cancer to the liver, bone, brain and lungs. Lori once again fought her cancer with courage opting to have a hysterectomy in June of 2003. After nearly five years of living with cancer Lori passed away in her sleep on August 14, 2004. The Sunshine Ride Lori's idol and mentor became Lance Armstrong after reading about his fight with testicular cancer. Lori had always been an avid athlete and used physical fitness as a way to take control of her body. She participated in Lance Armstrong's "Ride for the Roses". Lori's twin sister Kelly, friends and family in the Louisville and Southern Indiana area will be sponsoring a ride in Lori's memory on August 6, 2005 called the Sunshine Ride.
